Farrans Scoops Responsible Procurement Award

NI construction firm Farrans has won the Responsible Procurement award at the Northumbrian Water Group (NWG) GEM Awards.

Farrans was recognised for the social value its been delivering on the Project Pipeline: County Durham and Tees Value contract.

In County Durham and Tees Valley, Farrans is improving the underground network of water pipes. A new 24 kilometre, 800 millimetre diameter pipeline is being constructed between Lartington Water Treatment Works and Shildon via Whorley Hill.


The new pipeline that will benefit around 200,000 customers will cross underneath the River Tees and Alwent Beck to a depth of 50 metres

NWG have a vision to become the national leader in the provision of sustainable water and wastewater services. The company wants to recognise the part supply partners play in helping NWG achieve its vision and celebrate those that are 'Going the Extra Mile'.
