NI firm GRAHAM has been shortlisted as a finalist in the British Construction Industry Awards 2023.
Located within the historic Egham Conservation Area, Egham Gateway West is a new development comprised of four mixed use buildings providing retail, a cinema, 101 new residential homes and student accommodation, all encompassed by a new public realm.
Completed in summer 2022, great collaboration on this project was crucial from the outset as the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic presented a huge challenge for the team. The majority of works took place during the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns which gave the project a new angle of complexity. Despite these challenges, all key delivery dates were met, including the completion of the student accommodation block for a Sept 2021 deadline.
Managed by development and placemaking group, Places for People, on behalf of Runnymede Borough Council and designed by architect Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, Egham’s heritage as a historic town has been successfully preserved and enhanced through the sensitive redevelopment of this site.
In association with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and New Civil Engineer, the awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday 11th October 2023 at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
