Plans for essential water supply upgrades are set to result in overnight disruption for residents in Skerries, Fingal.
A temporary, overnight disruption will be in place from 10pm on Monday 22 May until 2am the following morning.
Uisce Éireann and Fingal County Council are collaborating on essential upgrade works on the local water network to ensure the continued delivery of clean, safe drinking water to homes and businesses.
During the works, customers in Skerries and surrounding areas will be impacted by reduced water pressure and intermittent water outages. Following the improvement works, it may take two to three hours for normal supply to return as water refills the network. The works have been planned to take place overnight to minimise disruption to customers.
As per best practice, most homes and businesses will have on-site water storage to provide a backup source of water for sanitation purposes.
Matt Thomson, Uisce Éireann, explained: "Uisce Éireann is committed to enabling communities across Dublin to thrive by continuously upgrading and developing our critical infrastructure. These essential works are necessary to continue to provide homes and businesses in Skerries and surrounding areas with a clean, safe drinking water supply.
"We understand that this type of work may be disruptive to the local community which is why our experienced water services crews will work throughout the night to complete the works and restore normal water supply as quickly as possible."
In order to complete the works safely and efficiently, traffic management in the form of a stop/go system will be in place on the R128 (Rush Road) near the junction with Shenick Road for the duration of the works.
GMC Utilities Group Ltd is carrying out the works on behalf of Uisce Éireann.
