A landmark mixed-use office campus in the heart of Dublin's historic North Docks has reached a key construction milestone.
The office quarter at Coopers Chase has been officially topped out, with Building 1 due to reach practical completion in May and Building 2 in November.
When completed later this year, the campus will provide over 1m sq ft of mixed-use space including 471 apartments, offices, retail, and cultural space anchored by one acre of public realm.
Designed by leading architects Henry J Lyons and constructed by Sisk, Coopers Cross will set a new standard in Dublin, blending technology and architectural excellence to deliver workspaces that are future ready. Totalling 381,000 sq ft of Grade-A space the two office buildings at Coopers Cross are designed for maximum flexibility with uninterrupted spans and full perimeter glazing across floorplates ranging from 9,800 sq ft to some of the largest in Dublin at 46,800 sq ft. AI driven technology uses an advanced network of sensors to optimize building performance, significantly reducing carbon and lowering operating costs. Earlier this year Coopers Cross was the first commercial development in Ireland to achieve a Platinum SmartScore certification, which is only awarded to schemes within exceptional Intelligent building credentials.
Coopers Cross will provide an exceptional employee experience with expansive receptions and generous, fully automated cores providing an unparalleled sense of arrival. Each space within the buildings has been thoughtfully designed to maximise natural light and provide a comfortable and productive work environment to enhance collaboration. The office buildings boast 30,000 sq ft of publicly accessible space including townhall, café, restaurant and co-working space clustered around a unique Garden Street which connects to a new public park at the heart of Coopers Cross.
The overall campus is underpinned by world leading sustainability credentials which include targeted LEED and WELL Platinum, BREEAM Outstanding and enabled by powerful data driven intelligence seamlessly connecting the building systems and the people occupying them.
Paul Brown, CEO, John Sisk & Son said: "Sisk is delighted to top out the commercial component of Coopers Cross. This building will provide one of the most exemplar commercial office spaces in Dublin with the latest innovative technology playing a vital role its delivery. We have a longstanding relationship with Kennedy Wilson delivering award winning projects over the past decade together, most recently 10-12 Hanover Quay."
Peter McKenna, Head of Development, Europe, at Kennedy Wilson commented: "We are incredibly proud to have reached this significant milestone and we look forward to the official opening of Coopers Cross later this year. In line with our commitment to deliver future-led, sustainable spaces, Coopers Cross will raise the bar for resident, tenant and community experiences with its cutting-edge smart building standards, plentiful amenities and focus on placemaking within the vibrant North Docks."
Richard Pilkington, Head of European Real Estate, at Cain International added: "We remain firmly rooted in our belief that leading developments like Coopers Cross will play an important role in shaping the new working environment and in building forward thinking communities. We are delighted to have reached this milestone alongside our long-standing partners and look forward to officially delivering the space to a roster of impressive tenants in the near future."
