Ulster Bank Set To Refurbish Belfast Branch

Construction News Image
Plans have been unveiled for the refurbishment of Ulster Bank's central Belfast branch on Donegall Square East.

These plans form part of a major refresh of the Ulster Bank brand.

The branch will undergo a revamp in Ulster Bank's new purple brand colour and 'Tomorrow Begins Today' brand positioning, with the inside and outside signage changed to Ulster Bank's refreshed logo. There will also be significant works to modernise the banking hall, with new lounge space, upgraded digital signage, and consultation rooms upgraded with video banking functionality. Back-office and colleague areas will also be refreshed.

The move will see the branch adopt the style of flagship NatWest branches in cities across England and Wales.

Work is set to commence in the next few months, with further branch investments to follow later this year.

Terry Robb, Head of Retail Banking at Ulster Bank, said: "The branch will focus on fulfilling five key roles: building awareness, trust and access, delivering human service and transactions, putting our purpose into action, supporting communities, and helping activate digital journeys.

"The investment will bring the branch into line with our exciting new brand look and feel and will create a modern space that really meets the needs of our customers today."

Ulster Bank's brand colour has been blue for decades and the move to purple represents a significant change that will align Ulster Bank with its parent bank, NatWest.

Terry added: "We are bringing the 'Tomorrow Begins Today' positioning to Northern Ireland; helping customers take actions today for a better tomorrow.

"From this week, customers are beginning to see our refreshed brand appearing across our digital channels including our website, app and social media, as well as in our advertising. Changes to signage and branches will start to happen in the weeks and months ahead. The change will not only provide us with a fresh new look and feel, it will also visually associate us more closely with NatWest Group, one of the largest banks in the UK, and its marketing and initiatives. This is a real positive for Ulster Bank and Northern Ireland."
