A programme of enhancements have been completed in the County Fermanagh village of Belleek.
Work involved improvements to Belleek Marina walkways and car parking facilities. This represents the first of a suite of projects under the Covid Recovery Small Settlement Regeneration Programme in Belleek. An investment of £100,000 has been made and supported by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council.
Speaking about the project, Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Barry McElduff, said: "I am delighted that the Council, in partnership with the Department for Communities (DfC), the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) and the Department for Infrastructure (DfI) and has been able to provide funding to various projects in villages throughout the District.
"I had the opportunity to see the Marina and Main Street improvement works in Belleek recently and was very pleased to see how they have enhanced the village.
"Belleek welcomes many visitors throughout the year being home to the world famous Belleek Pottery, of course.
"These improvements will ensure that the village continues to be attractive and welcoming for visitors and locals alike, sustaining its reputation as a great place to live, work, visit and relax in.
"It is really important to support local villages to ensure that they can fulfil their important social and economic roles and continue to thrive."
Further projects totalling £2.5 million will be delivered in the coming months across the district including other village enhancement projects, projects supporting property owners with improvements and frontage screening projects.
