Repairs Scheduled On Galway Water Supply

Residents of Tír an Fhia in Galway have been impacted by a disrupted water supply.

A mechanical fault was reported at the water treatment plant in Tír an Fhia.

Uisce Éireann and Galway County Council are working to restore water as quickly as possible to impacted customers. Whilst every effort is being made to maintain supply customers may experience temporary, intermittent low pressure and/or water outages in Tír an Fhia.


Dedicated water service crews have mobilised and repairs are underway and are expected to be completed by 3pm this afternoon, 24 January. It typically it takes two to three hours following repairs for full supply to restore to all customers affected by a water supply outage as reservoir levels replenish.

Eoin Hughes, Uisce Éireann, commented: "The repairs are being conducted as quickly and efficiently as possible to minimise disruption to the area and restore water for all customers. We understand the inconvenience an outage can have on customers, and we appreciate your patience as we work to return normal water supply as quickly as possible."
