The utility took home the 'Diversity and Inclusion' award, beating competition from five other major employers.
The new 'Diversity and Inclusion' award was supported by the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland and Chief Commissioner, Geraldine McGahey was keen to find out more about diversity and inclusion in practice at NI Water, which operates under the company's tagline 'Here, everyone matters'.
Speaking at a recent visit to NI Water, Chief Commissioner, Geraldine McGahey said: "Developing a positive culture of diversity and inclusion in the workplace is a key aspect of many of today's successful business models. NI Water are a major employer who have successfully embraced this practice across their organisation.

"Other employers in Northern Ireland could learn from NI Water's example. We continue to urge employers to fully explore the benefits of embracing diversity and inclusion both for their business and their employees too. We know that these benefits have the potential to be amplified across wider society, which will ultimately benefit us all."
