Navan Town Set For Traffic Restrictions

A new one-way system is set to be introduced in Navan town, Co Meath, starting on Monday 09 January.

The system will be in place along part of Kennedy Road, eastbound from the entrance/exit to the Kennedy Plaza car park to the junction with Paddy O' Brien Street and onwards to the Trimgate St./Market Square junction.

Two-way vehicular traffic will only be permitted on Kennedy Road from the Abbey Road Roundabout to the entrance to Kennedy Plaza. Traffic exiting from Paddy O'Brien Street and Metges laneway onto Kennedy Road will be restricted to a left turn only. Traffic from Trimgate Street will not be permitted to turn left onto Kennedy Road.


Traffic exiting Trimgate Street and wishing to enter Kennedy Road will be restricted to continue onto Market Square and Watergate Street and follow the notified diversion route westwards via R147, N51, O Growney Terrace and onto Abbey Road to then access Kennedy Road.

Traffic delays are to be expected. Diversion routes will be in place and directional signage erected. Local access will be maintained. It is anticipated that this element of the works shall continue until Monday 23 February 2023 at the earliest.
