Plans for a new MOT Vehicle Test Centre in Mallusk have been given the green light.
Antrim and Newtownabbey Planning Committee granted planning permission for the development.
When complete, the new 4080 square meter premises at Craigarogan Business Park will employ up to 41 employees and represents a capital investment of £9.7 million for the Borough.
The new state of the art centre will have nine lanes in total – seven for cars and two for HGV allowing for over 400 tests each day.
Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Alderman Stephen Ross said: "I welcome this major investment by the Driver & Vehicle Agency NI for our Borough. Vehicle Testing Centres have been under immense pressure to meet the demands for tests following COVID, and the increased capacity of this new site will help address this issue."
