Construction News Image
Locals in the Glen area of L'Derry city have been invited to the shape the future development of Creggan Burn Park.

Developed by Derry City and Strabane District Council in partnership with the Glen Development Initiative (GDI), proposals for the site include an upgrade of the zig-zag steps, better greenway connectivity, additional lighting, tree planting and a new community centre within the park.

Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Councillor Sandra Duffy said: "The latest proposals will significantly enhance the park's offering and make it more user friendly which is why it is so important that people give their views on the proposals so they can be tailored to meet their needs."

Adrian Kelly, Glen Development Initiative, added: "We are excited to see the progress on the second stage of the re-development of Creggan Burn Park. I would like to encourage local residents to take time to give their feedback on these plans. An additional consultation will take place on the new community and youth development in the following weeks."

People living in the surrounding area will receive a letter this week inviting them to view the proposed plans at Glen Community Centre or online at www.derrystrabane.com/cregganburn.

The public are being asked to give their feedback by Monday 15 August to enable officers to put together an engagement report which will be presented to the Council's Environment and Regeneration Committee.
