Leading engineering solutions provider Mainline Group has secured a prestigious accolade for its continuing professional development (CPD) strategy.
The firm was awarded the CPD Accredited Employer Standard by Engineers Ireland, which enables engineers and engineering employers to raise competency levels and deliver tangible business benefits by investing in engineers through continuing professional development.
Operating in Ireland, the UK and Scandinavia, Mainline provides a wide range of services from the design and build of substations and grid connections, to construction of airside aviation infrastructure, to turnkey grid connected renewable energy solutions.
With offices in Dublin and Cork, the company believes that CPD encompasses not only training but all forms of learning and has recently implemented a learning and development model based on the 70-20-10 model, where individuals learn 70% of their knowledge from challenging experiences and assignments, 20% from developmental relationships and 10% from coursework and training. Mainline has utilised this model for all employees, most recently investing significantly in placement students and graduate new hires with a view to growing their internal talent pool.
Commenting on achieving the CPD Accredited Employer Standard, Jamie O'Rourke, CEO of Mainline Group, said: "We are delighted to achieve the CPD Accredited Employer Standard from Engineers Ireland. Recognising and developing talent is one of our key values here at Mainline, and CPD accreditation will further enable us to structure our learning and development initiatives. The reputation that comes with Engineers Ireland's CPD accreditation will also play a pivotal role in our talent attraction and retention strategy, demonstrating our commitment to continuous improvement, and the continuing professional development of each member of the Mainline team."
Commenting at the parchment presentation at Mainline's headquarters at Wilton, Cork, Dee Kehoe, CPD Director at Engineers Ireland, added: "I wish to congratulate Mainline Group for their dedication to professional development and achieving CPD Accredited Employer status.
"Investment in professional development is essential for organisations to grow and develop their people to achieve both organisational and individual objectives. Mainline has established well-integrated CPD systems that are supportive of the organisation's mission and vision and can be seen to deliver real results."
