Cork County Council has cemented its commitment to staff training and professional development with a prestigious Engineers Ireland re-accreditation.
The local authority was re-accredited with the Engineers Ireland CPD Award. It has been accredited by Engineers Ireland as a CPD Accredited Employer since 2010.
Speaking at the recent awards presentation, Chief Executive of Cork County Council Tim Lucey said: "Achieving CPD re-accreditation for the maximum three-year period demonstrates the Council's achievements in developing best-practice and our commitment to staff training and professional development. This is not only important for attracting top talent but also for retaining key talent within our teams. Continuing Professional Development ensures that the Council maintains and enhances the knowledge and skills of our staff to continue to support communities and businesses through the provision of high quality services and capital investment."
As part of the audit by Engineers Ireland last year, the Council was assessed under seven criteria including its training systems, staff mentoring, staff competencies, training and development.
