Leading broadband provider Fibrus has electrified its fleet with a host of new, environmentally-friendly vehicles.
A roll-out of electric vehicles has begun as part of the company's commitment to reduce carbon emissions and become a net zero organisation by 2040.
Fibrus, which has also joined Business in the Community (BITC), plans to have all its vehicles switched to electric by 2025 following on from other company-wide initiatives such as a paper free office environment, renewable energy supply to company premises and biodiversity projects.
Pledging his commitment to sustainability, Fibrus CEO Dominic Kearns said: "Our teams cover extensive areas as they work to connect homes and businesses in the most rural parts of the UK, from Kilkeel to Cookstown and Coleraine to Crossmaglen.
"We're confident that by electrifying our vehicles we are protecting everyone's future. We hope that seeing our new fleet on the roads will inspire others to make the switch too."
Through BITC membership, the full fibre broadband provider joins over 200 Northern Ireland companies who've pledged to act as a force for good in society and have a positive impact on the environment.
Kieran Harding, Business in the Community NI boss, added: "Our members recognise the huge benefits that come from managing their businesses in a responsible and sustainable way and we look forward to working with all our members – established and new – supporting them on their responsible business journeys.
"We aim to help and inspire communities to address three campaigning areas – their people, the planet and the place in which they operate.
"By working together to tackle social and environmental issues, businesses in membership with us can truly be a force for good in society."
