Thurles Car Park To Close For Improvements

Work is set to begin to improve a key car park in Thurles, Co Tipperary, later this month.

Planned works will take place at Liberty Square (Ulster Bank) car park on Monday 21 February 2022. The car park will be closed throughout the duration of the works, which are expected to run until Saturday 26 February.

Once complete, there will be approximately 54 parking spaces available in the car park, including Age Friendly parking, and Autism Friendly spaces.


Speaking more about the works, Thomas Duffy, District Engineer said: "Thurles Municipal District wishes to acknowledge the disruption these works may cause to businesses in the town.

"However, in order to minimise disruption commencement of the works was chosen, in consultation with the nearby schools, to coincide with what is schools mid term break.


"This work will see three of our main Thurles Town car parks - Parnell Street car park, Slievenamon Road car park and Liberty Square car park - having been upgraded within the last two years."
