The development of TU Dublin's new Academic Hub and Library on the Grangegorman Campus has been boosted with a key appointment.
OHL-Townlink Joint Venture Ltd has agreed a deal to serve as the building contractor for the project.
Designed by award-winning architects O'Donnell+Toumey, the Academic Hub will be visually unique, incorporating the existing North House building, which dates from 1854, into a new, modern structure that will wrap around the historical site.
The current interim library at Park House will move along with the library at Aungier Street to the Academic Hub building when it is completed. Other services that will be based in the Academic Hub and Library are the Academic Writing Centre, Careers Development Centre, Disability Support Centre, Civic Engagement, People Development and the Maths Learning Centre. This will represent 12,500m2 of library and Academic Support space across five floors and the opportunity for community engagement in the heart of the Grangegorman Campus.
Construction is set to commence in the coming weeks at the North House site, with completion projected for Summer 2024.
