Engineers Ireland has awarded its highly prestigious CPD Accredited Employer Standard to a leading Cork engineering consultancy.
EM3 has secured the sought-after accolade, which recognises the company's continuing professional development (CPD) strategy.
The Engineers Ireland CPD Accredited Employer standard is a strategic framework which enables engineers and engineering employers to raise competency levels and deliver tangible business benefits by investing in engineers through continuing professional development.
Founded in 2014 by Dónall O'Brien and John Hensey, EM3 employs over 50 staff from its company headquarters in Charleville, Co Cork. The industrial energy efficiency organisation has created a global presence, divining, implementing, monitoring, and verifying energy saving initiatives in multiple international locations, including the UK, North America, Europe, Asia.
Commenting on achieving the CPD Accredited Standard, John Hensey CEO and co-founder of EM3, said: "The importance of CPD was mentioned by staff in engagement surveys so we embarked on this accreditation to provide a structured approach to continuous professional development supported by Engineers Ireland.
"We see this process as fulfilling our commitment to our employees, to continuously develop and upskill them to add value to their career with us. We provide content internally, access to external training, mentoring and informal cross-functional knowledge sharing sessions with a view to supporting the CPD for all EM3 employees and are continually developing ways of improving how we support our staff."
Caroline Spillane, Director General of Engineers Ireland, added: "I wish to congratulate EM3 for their dedication to professional development and achieving CPD Accredited Employer status.
"Investment in professional development is essential for organisations to grow and develop their people to achieve both organisational and individual objectives. EM3 has established well-integrated CPD systems that are supportive of the overall organisation's mission and vision and can be seen to deliver real results."
