The offer comprises of an expanded enclosure system, which now includes 18 mod wide surface mounted units, along with the newly added flush mounted enclosures. Included in the new launch is a full suite of protective devices, which includes, MCB's, RCBO's, RCCB's & SPD. The Resi9 range is the first end-to-end offer from Schneider available in the Irish market, and it is a key steppingstone to the rollout of Schneider Electric's full suite of connected products for homes. The launch of Resi9 is timely as Ireland transitions from its fourth edition of the installation standards to the fifth edition, I.S.10101:2020. The new standard has been produced by industry experts from the NSAI’s Electro Technical Committee (ETC/TC 2) which has replaced ET 101:2008. The standards include requirements for designing and installing all types of electrical installations, including housing, hospitals, agricultural buildings, caravans, construction sites, industrial premises, and swimming pools.
Since February 2021, all new systems must be designed and installed in compliance with the new standard, including fitting a Surge Protective Devices (SPD). This component protects against electrical voltage spikes in alternating current circuits. A key feature of the Resi9 range is that it has combined protection, which means that protection for the SPD is embedded within one single device instead of requiring two separate devices, making it smaller, more accessible, and quicker for electricians to install.
