A busy Northern Ireland transport route in Bangor is set to undergo a series of improvement works.
The Department for Infrastructure is leading a £270,000 scheme to resurface the A2 Bloomfield Road Roundabout and its immediate approaches in County Down.
Work will begin on Sunday 26 September and is expected to be substantially complete by Thursday 07 October. Traffic management measures will be in place during these dates.
The traffic management measures will involve night-time closures of the Bloomfield Road Roundabout. On Sunday 26 September and Sunday 03 October, these closures will extend from 7pm to 6am. From Monday 27 September to Thursday 30 September and from Monday 04 October to Thursday 07 October, the closure will run from 8pm to 6am.
During these times a diversion will be in place. The traffic will be diverted along the C252 Gransha Road, U134 Balloo Road and A21 Newtownards Road. Access for local residents and Bloomfield shopping centre will be maintained.
The road will be open to traffic outside these hours, there will be no closures in place on Friday and Saturday nights.
Local access for residents, and users of schools, and emergency services will be maintained at all times during the works.
Road users are advised to allow extra time for their journey and to follow the alternative routes which will be clearly signed on the approaches to the closure.
