Ireland's leading supplier of building materials, Kilsaran has boosted the efficiencies across its 400-strong vehicle fleet.
The company has signed up to the MotionMetrics suite of fleet management tools, which brings together critical information for the fleet manager on a single screen, from fleet telematics, vehicle CCTV, vehicle checks, maintenance and tachograph management through to route planning.
Kilsaran's Transport Manager, Roy Hegarty heaped praise on the FleetMetrics, VisionMetrics, TachoMetrics and CheckMetrics products, which the company already uses.
"VisionMetrics, for example, allows our managers real-time visibility of all our vehicles," said Mr Hegarty. "In the event of an incident, we can ascertain instantly where liability lies, which facilitates a speedy resolution across all parties, including our insurer. Meanwhile our drivers feel better protected by having evidence available, whereas up to now they could feel vulnerable from the perception that 'the 40-tonne truck is always in the wrong'."
Kilsaran's drivers are using the CheckMetrics mobile app to conduct daily checks of their vehicles, providing the fleet manager with instant real-time visibility across the fleet of any issues as they arise. In addition, TachoMetrics is seamlessly automating the company's tachograph process, enabling remote downloading of tachograph files, real-time analysis of the data and remote sign-off of driver infringements via a mobile app.
Mr Hegarty added: "Not having to bring drivers into our depot for a debrief on infringements saves considerable time – a saving that benefits both company and driver – plus the reporting is more up to date, as everything is in real time. It all makes for a more efficient fleet operation."
MotionMetrics director Sean Kirwan commented: "From the outset our goal was to deliver a more convenient fleet management offering to the fleet manager than was previously available – one that could replace multiple systems with one single solution, on one screen, with one cost for the fleet operator. Feedback from clients and the wider industry to date suggest we are meeting a real need in the sector."
Kilsaran joins a list of high-profile clients across various industry sectors across the country to have discovered the bottom-line potential of the MotionMetrics solution. The Cork-based company foresees accelerated organic growth this year on foot of the positive real-world experience of these clients in working with its products.
