Greenergy And ESB To Unveil EV Charging Points At Irish Retail Forecourts

Greenergy is collaborating with ESB to introduce fast and high power EV charging points at selected Irish retail forecourts operating under Greenergy's Amber and Inver brands.

Initially, 16 forecourts have been identified across the Inver and Amber portfolio and include a mix of company owned, company leased and dealer sites. The charging units will be rolled out in two-phases, with over half of the sites to be completed over the coming 18 months.

Chris O'Callaghan, Head of Greenergy Ireland, said: "Our Inver and Amber retail forecourts give our customers variety in both our fuel and non-fuel forecourt services, and we see this venture with ESB as a way to provide another convenient offering to meet a new fuel demand. EVs alongside liquid renewables, where Greenergy has a market leading position, will make up the energy mix as we head to a decarbonised Ireland, and we are adapting to meet the needs of our customer base."


John Byrne, Head of ESB ecars, said: "For the last 10 years, ESB has installed and maintained the country’s public charging network with more than 1,350 points now available. We are always looking to expand and enhance our network with these 16 sites crucial to delivering a well located, reliable public charging network to the increasing number of EV drivers across Ireland. These sites will include a mix of fast and high power chargers which can provide 100km of range in as little as six minutes. We are excited to partner with Greenergy and selected the Amber and Inver sites given their attractive convenience retail and local community offering.
