mac-group have been shortlisted for a hat-trick of Health & Safety Excellence Awards, aimed at recognising and rewarding excellence in the health and safety profession.
The firms Health and Safety team have continued to introduce numerous initiatives and empower others around them to adopt and embrace the ever-evolving mac-group safety culture.
Darren Bourke, mac-group Group Health & Safety Manager, who is the custodian of mac-group's EHS Management System along with his team across three jurisdictions (RoI, NI & GB), has shown strong leadership and a positive attitude in what has been a challenging year.
He said: "To ensure our safety culture continues to be the envy of our peers the EHS team, during the last year, have partnered with CORA Technologies and have designed and implemented tools that allow continuous improvement along with empowering all staff and wider supply chain to be more safety-focused.
"An independent judging panel of experts drawn from the industry, academia and the broader stakeholder community will judge the submissions in an open, transparent and robust manner. It is now a nail biting wait until the awards ceremony on Thursday 29th July, – fingers crossed for 'back of the net' success, good luck to all shortlisted."
The awards the firm is shortlisted for include:
• H&S Excellence Awards – Construction
The award recognises the organisation in Ireland's construction sector that has delivered the best health and safety initiative over the last 12 months.
• H&S Team of the Year – SME
Health & Safety Team demonstrating extraordinary teamwork, contributing to an improvement in the health, safety or wellbeing standards and performance.
• H&S Manager of the Year
Health & Safety Manager who played a key role in the implementation or improvement of health, safety or wellbeing standards.
