Irish energy supplier Energia has extended its contract to supply 100% green electricity to Regatta Great Outdoors.
Under the agreement, Energia will provide renewable energy to all 24 Regatta Great Outdoors stores throughout Ireland.
Founded in the UK in 1981, Regatta Great Outdoors started life in Ireland in 2000, enjoying rapid growth in the following years. There are now 24 standalone stores throughout Ireland, with seven more openings planned in 2021. The company offers outdoor and leisure clothing with one simple mission – to produce affordable clothing for seasoned adventurers, but also for those who simply open their front door and have fun. As a business, Regatta Great Outdoors are committed to sustainability and constantly review processes to ensure environmental impact is reduced. To date the company has reduced its road miles by 47,000 miles per year and uses sustainable fibers such as Bamboo and alpaca wool in its clothing ranges.
Gavin Fox, Regatta said; “We are truly delighted to be partnering with Energia to ensure our Irish stores are provided with renewable energy. Regatta constantly reviews its processes and plans with the aim to reduce environmental impact.
Alison Curran, Field Sales Manager, Energia commented: "We are delighted to extend our partnership with Regatta Great Outdoors. We are committed to Irish communities and businesses that serve them across the island of Ireland, and Regatta is a great example of a like-minded business that plays an active role in the lives of many. As a valued Energia partner, we have seen first-hand how important sustainability is to the team at Regatta and look forward to continuing to support them in the coming years."
