Further Works Agreed For Mullingar Town Centre

An additional set of works have been agreed for Mullingar town centre to support the recently completed street enhancement project.

This Co Westmeath scheme brought a Smart Traffic Lights system to the area to ensure pedestrian safety and traffic flow is maximised.


Following discussions at the monthly public Mullingar Kinnegad District meeting for February, some immediate works are to be carried out.

These include the fitting of additional radars to the traffic lights at the Station Side of Green Bridge, Nugent's Corner and Mount Street.

Further works will see a yellow junction box provided at the Dublin – Delvin Road Junction, as well as new bollards on Pearse Street and additional orbital route signage.

This infrastructural project is supported under the EU Urban Designated Fund.
