Plans Sent Forward For River Walkway In Tipperary

A proposal has been set out to deliver a new walkway along the River Ara in Tipperary town.

Located in the townlands of Collegeland and Knockanrawley, this project will see 1km of the Ara River reimagined with enhancement and stabilisation works.

It will include the development of a gravelled walkway parallel with the existing river channel and connecting it to the existing path near Glenview, as well as an off-stream wetland and boardwalk through the wetland.

Further works include landscaping, a children's play area and a new pedestrian bridge.

An Bord Pleanála will consider the proposal, with plans available for inspection from Monday 10 February 2020 to Monday 30 March.
