New Undergrad Places To Boost University's Ulster Magee Expansion

The planned expansion of Ulster University's Magee campus is expected to take a step forward next month.

Health Minister Robin Swann will confirm how many of the 900 new nursing and midwifery places will be allocated to Magee. These undergraduates places were outlined as one of the commitments in the New Decade, New Approach deal.


Local Sinn Féin MLA Karen Mullan believes this announcement next month will boost expansion plans for the campus.

"Securing these extra places will be another positive step towards the overall expansion of the Magee campus and boosting the north west economy," the Foyle MLA said.

"The Nursing School on campus is already punching well above its weight with a high number of new applicants each year.

"Sinn Féin will continue to work with Ulster University and the Department of Health to ensure commitments within the new deal are met."
