Housing Scheme Moves Forward In Tipperary

Plans to bring 28 new homes to the Knockanrawley area of Tipperary Town have taken a major step forward.

Tipperary County Council has struck a deal with K & J Townmore Construction Ltd to develop the housing project.

With a value of €5.67 million, the Aherlow Meadow project will see the creation of 16 two bedroom, 10 three bedroom and 2 four bedroom homes. Construction will be based on designs from Van Dijk Architects.

Welcoming the contract signing, Cathaoirleach of Tipperary County Council, Councillor Michael Murphy said: "This scheme at Tipperary will deliver high-quality homes to families and people from Tipperary County Council's housing list. These units will be finished to the highest standards and will provide people with a place they can be proud to call home."


Tipperary County Council's Chief Executive, Joe MacGrath added: "Tipperary County Council is eagerly anticipating delivery of these homes and will continue to work with the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government; developers, builders and other stakeholders to continue the delivery of new social housing across our County."

This development complements schemes already under construction across the county with further schemes planned for Cahir, Thurles, and Borrisokane to commence construction in early 2020.
