Motion Passed To Extend Dublin Luas Line
Dublin's Luas tram system is set to be extended in southern parts of the county.
A motion from Fianna Fáil Cllr Deirdre O'Donovan was passed to extend the line from Kingswood to Ballycullen.
Cllr O'Donovan said: "This is just the first step to having the plan included in a future Programme for Government. The proposal was initially suggested in 2004, and obviously given the incredible amount of development and lack of any adequate public transport in the area, it is more vital than ever that this plan becomes a reality.
"This is the most effective and innovative solution in terms of making a real difference to combat climate change and to deal with the chronic traffic congestion in our community."
This motion was passed by the LAC of South Dublin County Council.
