Northern Ireland-based firm GRAHAM has reached a major milestone on a key Manchester project.
Developer Glenbrook hosted a topping out ceremony at its Cornbrook development to celebrate the scheme reaching the highest point of construction.
The £60 million development will include 280 apartments comprising of 98 one-bed, 168 two-bed, and 14 three-bed units, across two 15-storey buildings. It also includes a ground floor convenience retail unit and landscaped public realm fronting Chester Road. For future residents the scheme will also include a roof top tenants lounge, gym, studio and external running track all located on the 15th floor of the development.
GRAHAM is delivering the 235,000 sq ft project based on designs by Sheppard Robson. It is being funded by Barings Real Estate.
Danny Roberts of Glenbrook commented: "This project sees the transformation of a disused industrial site into a highly-sustainable development which will undoubtedly spearhead further regeneration in this area of Manchester.
"The health and wellbeing of its residents has very much influenced the design and fit-out of the scheme, from the inclusion of a running track to the location of the shared areas which are located on the rooftop to maximise sunlight and views."
GRAHAM Operations Director, Stephen Van Den Hoek added: "We are pleased to have reached this key milestone and to be on-track with the delivery of Cornbrook. Cornbrook is our third significant, high-quality residential tower building for Glenbrook, following the completion of the Trilogy and Duet buildings last year; and demonstrates our on-going, close working relationship with the property developer. We are looking forward to celebrating the addition of another landmark building to Manchester's skyline for one of our most valued clients."
The Cornbrook scheme is due to complete towards the end of 2020.
