Atkins Collects Irish Building And Design Award

Atkins has marked a great end to 2019 by securing a prestigious accolade at the Irish Building and Design Awards.

The ceremony, which took place in Dublin on 29 November, saw the firm named Engineering Practice of the Year.

The awards recognise the accomplishments of professionals from the world of Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Design over the last 12 months.

Commenting on the win, Justin Norman, managing director, Atkins Ireland said: "I was very proud to collect the Engineering Practice of the Year award on behalf of our brilliant team. It marks a great end to a brilliant year which has seen us deliver an impressive range of projects for many clients throughout Ireland, and showcases our diverse and truly multidisciplinary engineering capability."

Over the last year Atkins has opened a new office in Dundalk and expanded its office in Galway to accommodate the growing team.

The firm has also been working on many interesting and stimulating projects across different markets this year. These include critical national infrastructure schemes that connect cities and rural communities such as the M7 Motorway Widening, the N25 Waterford to Glenmore and the Ireland West Airport Knock Runway Rehabilitation; protecting national assets on projects such as the Dublin Port Primary Border Inspection facilities and the National Motorway Maintenance; and multidiscipline contracts such as the Ryanair Office Campus Development – Airside Green, where the business is delivering architecture; civil and structural engineering; mechanical and electrical engineering; fire, traffic and environmental engineering; project management; health and safety; and cost consultancy.
