Green Light For New Primary Care Centre In Dublin

Plans for a new primary care centre in Drimnagh, Dublin, have been approved.

Local Fine Gael Minister Catherine Byrne confirmed the progression of the project, as well as further plans for a new building for the Mother McAuley Centre and the Alzheimer's Centre on the same site.

Minister Byrne visited the centre on Friday, 13 December, with the Minister for Health Simon Harris and met with staff, HSE, and local residents who were at the day centre for their Christmas celebrations.

"I am delighted to confirm that funding is in place in the HSE capital plan for the delivery of the primary care centre for Drimnagh," Minister Byrne said.

"This is a huge opportunity for real investment in our community and health services and I know the local community have sought this for a long time. I will continue to keep them up to date as it progresses."

The project will now move forward to final design in 2020 with construction expected to start on site in 2021.
