These £120,000 works saw the senior play area upgraded with new equipment. It forms part of the first phase of work at People's Park, which turns 150 years old in 2020.
Mayor Maureen Morrow was joined by Mid and East Antrim Council representatives, local school children and the developers to celebrate the opening on Friday 27 September.

Mayor Morrow, said: "I am delighted to be here today to celebrate the re-opening of this fabulous play park.
"The People's Park is exactly that - a place for people.
"It is heart-warming to see children of all abilities coming together and enjoying the facilities on offer."
Alderman Audrey Wales MBE added: "Public parks play an extremely important role in many communities, providing young families and children with safe and exciting spaces to enjoy and interact with each other – and the new senior play area in People's Park does just that.
"From babies through to our older visitors, we aim to provide a safe, clean, well maintained facility for all and this newly refurbished play space demonstrates the Council's commitment to our parks and open spaces."
