Design Of New Ryanair Office Campus

Construction News Image
The design of Ryanair's new office campus in Dublin has been unveiled by the contractor Atkins.

The 10,700m2, six-storey development – which is now onsite - will sit alongside Ryanair's existing head office at Airside Business Park, located close to Dublin Airport. Atkins was appointed earlier this year to lead the project from concept stage and planning application through to detailed design, contractor procurement, construction supervision and project handover.

Justin Norman, Managing Director of Atkins Ireland, said: "This is a significant project which adds to our portfolio of work supporting Ryanair's continued growth from a well-established base in Dublin. It's also allowed us to work with Ryanair to design a highly sustainable building in a fully digital environment, utilising BIM to drive improved collaboration and efficiency.

"Sustainability is at the forefront of Atkins' design, which targets minimal environmental impacts and reduced operational costs through features such as solar panels, electric vehicle charging points, energy efficient lighting and state-of-the-art heating technology. Sustainable Urban Drainage will also be integrated to enhance the site's existing ecological system."

Thomas Fowler, Director of Fuel & Facilities at Ryanair, also said: "This iconic office development is Dublin's new generation of contemporary workspace and is an exciting addition to North Dublin's global business district. Our state of the art six storey office development provides spacious, inspiring, light filled workspaces with panoramic views. We are delighted to have Atkins as our engineering and architectural designers on this cutting edge office development as Atkins' full multidiscipline team have the technical expertise to successfully deliver this project.

"Atkins was appointed to provide a wide range of services including: architecture, civil and structural engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, landscape architecture, project management, fire, traffic and environmental engineering, health and safety and cost consultancy."

This project builds on Atkins' previous work for Ryanair which includes the design and engineering of a building to house the first of a new generation of Fixed Base Flight Simulators.
