84 Families To Be Handed New Homes In Fingal

Eighty-four families in the Fingal area are set to benefit from new homes courtesy of the council's social housing construction programme.

Keys will be handed over shortly to a number of people at Mulhuddart, Rolestown, Rivermeade and Balbriggan.

Fingal County Council's 2019 social housing programme remains on target, with 200 new homes already completed and work underway on six sites across the county.

Following huge success under the Rebuilding Ireland Programme, in which the local authority exceeded its targets with 4,000 social housing solutions, they are now implementing a three-year strategy on affordable housing, running from 2019-21.


Fingal County Council's Director of Housing, Margaret Geraghty said: "We are committed to delivering a strong pipeline of housing between now and 2022 on lands in our ownership and working with our partner Approved Housing Bodies and the Land Development Agency.

"We are also working with private developers where building is taking place at over 80 sites across the County to agree the provision of social housing in private developments in accordance with the Planning Acts. These combined approaches ensure that Fingal will continue to deliver new social housing to meet the needs of people on our housing waiting list."
