Sewer Upgrades Delivered In County Cork
The sewer network has been successfully upgraded in Mallow and Mitchelstown as part of Irish Water's scheme to protect the wastewater network across County Cork.Underground System and Sewer Repair Ltd completed the Mallow/Mitchelstown works, addressing the structural defects in almost 8km of the sewer network using non-dig technology.
This will benefit local residents and business owners by significantly reducing the likelihood of sewer collapses and blockages and reduce potential sewer flooding and odour issues.

Sean Twohig, Capital Programmes Regional Lead said: "Irish Water faces a serious challenge with the size and scale of issues with the wastewater network. A sewer network that is fit for purpose is essential in order to support business and social development in these towns and these works will facilitate ongoing growth. The upgrade works in Mallow and Mitchelstown will benefit local residents and business owners as the performance level of the sewer network in the towns have been significantly improved."
