Local Community Urged To Attend Event On Roundstone Wastewater Plant

The local community in Roundstone, Co Galway, has been urged to attend an upcoming information evening on plans for a new Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The new plant aims to stop the discharge of untreated wastewater into Roundstone Bay, improving the water quality and enhancing the local area.

Irish Water is working in partnership with Galway County Council on the project.

The information event will take place at the Roundstone Community Centre from 5.30pm – 7.30pm.

Plans for the development also include new pumping stations and interconnecting pipework.

Construction works are scheduled to commence in 2020.

The plant will be located in private land to the north of the village, close to the existing northern outfall.
