Cork Council Allocated Funding Under Built Heritage Scheme

Cork County Council has been awarded €79,000 under the Built Heritage Investment Scheme 2019 (BHIS).

The BHIS is a fund of up to €2.5m which helps assist with works to safeguard structures protected under the Planning and Development Act 2000. It also supports work to structures within Architectural Conservation Areas.

The council's Heritage Unit will administer the funding with grants of between €2,500 and €15,000.

Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Josepha Madigan TD announced the fund alongside a similar scheme, the Historic Structures Fund (HSF) 2019.

The Historic Structures Fund has been introduced to care for and restore historic structures and buildings for the benefit of communities and the public.

The application deadline for both funds is 4pm on Thursday 31 January 2019.
