FP McCann To Carry Out UB190 Bann Bridge Improvement Works

FP McCann has been chosen to carry out improvement works on the UB190 Bann Bridge in Coleraine.

The Bearing Replacement project will be delivered on the structure, which carries a single track around 240 metres over the River Bann on the Coleraine to Derry ~ L'Derry railway line.

Works will include surveying the existing structure to determine the size of plates, stiffeners, bearing components and works to the top of the piers. In addition, new stiffeners and plates will be fabricated and installed.


Other highlights include;

• Removal of the existing bearings

• Design of the temporary jacking of the existing superstructure

• Design of the temporary horizontal bracing of the superstructure

• Design, fabrication and installation of the bearings

• Removal and reapplication of paint system local to the works

• Monitoring of girder and track positions during works
