The Minister of State at the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government, Damien English, TD welcomed the new residents at the official opening and commended the Council on delivering the scheme on time. The council was assisted by financial support of €8.176m, provided by his Department under the Rebuilding Ireland Programme.

"Meath County Council has an ambitious direct construction programme, with funding currently approved for a further 19 sites throughout the County, which will see the delivery of up to 340 units over the next three-four years. We hope that all the families who have taken up residence will enjoy many wonderful years in their new homes."

The Cathaoirleach of Meath County Council, Cllr Tom Kelly, added: "It's fantastic to meet some of the new residents living in these homes and to see the Council achieving real progress in addressing the housing problem."
