Work is continuing on a new £5.6 million railway station project in Portrush, Co Antrim.
The scheme is part of a £17m Portrush Regeneration Programme led by the Department for Communities, which includes a major public realm improvement scheme in the town.
Once finished, the new Station offer enhanced accessibility, improved passenger information and signage to local amenities and attractions, as well as enhanced cycle storage to encourage active travel.
As part of the project, Translink wants to hear feedback from the public on a series of images which will be displayed on the station frontage along Eglinton Street.
Louise Sterritt, Translink's Project Manager for the Portrush Station scheme, said: "We want to keep the public as informed as possible as the new station in Portrush takes shape, and we want to have the community's input – we are delighted to have the public choose these warm, arresting images to grace the station's boundary wall and help make the station and Eglinton Street a real gateway to one of Northern Ireland's premier tourist towns once again.
"People can make their choices, choosing from the categories listed – Seaside, Tourist, Event and Train – by accessing our website at www.translink.co.uk/portrushvote. Voting will close at 11:59pm on Wednesday 8 August, with a maximum of 12 images with the most votes from the public being the ones to adorn the wall at Eglinton Street.
"Translink is transforming public transport to be Your First Choice for Travel in Northern Ireland, and the new station in Portrush will be a major asset for us, contributing significantly to the ongoing regeneration of the town centre and surrounding area. We look forward to continuing to work alongside a range of stakeholders in delivering this key project for the benefit of Portrush and the wider area."
The project is scheduled to be complete in spring next year, ahead of Portrush's hosting of the 148th Open.
