The facility has been installed after a consultation with local residents to help boost safety at the popular venue.
Commending the crossing, Chairman of the Council's Leisure & Community Development Committee Alderman Paul Porter said: "behalf of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, I am delighted to see the introduction of a pedestrian crossing at Lagan Valley LeisurePlex. The safety of all customers within and surrounding our facilities is of paramount importance, particularly with the significant number of families and schools who enjoy using the LeisurePlex each week.

"I would like to thank local resident, Andy Thompson for raising the suggestion with the Council as well as Councillor Rhoda Walker for working alongside the Leisure & Community Development Committee to see the idea for the crossing come into fruition.
