Work Progresses On Water Mains Project In Swords

Work has commenced on the next phase of the €9 million Swords water main replacement project.

A 3.2km section of mains has been successfully replaced from Forrest Road to the intersection at the Lord Mayors Pub on Main Street, Co Dublin.

The next phase will replace mains on Main Street from the junction of Forrest Road to the Malahide Road junction.


Work is expected to be completed in three weeks.

Commenting on the project Paul Hickey, Regional Lead, said: "The Swords water main replacement project is progressing well and to date 3.2km of the 5.2km water main has been replaced. We thank the residents, businesses and road users for their understanding while we carry out this critical work. A one- way traffic management system will be in place for this phase of the works and we will continue to keep the community updated at each stage of the project."
