Engineers Ireland is welcoming all entries for its ninth annual Excellence Awards, set to take place this November.
The Engineers Ireland Excellence Awards recognise the achievements of exceptional engineering work and skills. As well as identifying leaders within the engineering industry, the awards provide an opportunity to showcase and celebrate the profession and quality of work produced by engineers both at home and abroad.
Entries can be submitted for the following categories: Engineering Project of the Year Award, sponsored by Transport Infrastructure Ireland; the Geoscience Ireland Award, sponsored by Geoscience Ireland; the Local Authority Engineering Initiative Award; the Technical Innovation Award and the Heritage and Conservation Award.
Each regional branch, engineering division and society committee of Engineers Ireland is also encouraged to nominate their best presentation for the 2017-2018 season in the Best Presentation Award category, sponsored by Griffiths & Armour and Beale & Company. This award recognises individuals who have contributed to the engineering profession by delivering outstanding technical presentations to Engineers Ireland members.
Engineers Ireland is also calling on the public to nominate an Irish engineer for the International Engineer of the Year Award, sponsored by ESB International.
Caroline Spillane, Director General, Engineers Ireland, said: "We are pleased to announce that the 2018 Engineers Ireland Excellence Awards are now open for entry. In addition to identifying leaders within the Irish engineering industry, the awards honour the pioneering and innovative work that is carried out by Irish engineers both at home and abroad. I would encourage engineers and engineering organisations to celebrate their achievements and submit an entry to the 2018 Engineers Ireland Excellence Awards today."
The deadline for entry to the 2018 awards is 2pm on 10 September.
A ceremony showcasing the winners will take place in Dublin's InterContinental Hotel, Ballsbridge, on 09 November.
