The Cork Container Terminal will replace the Cork Dockland sites at Tivoli.
A 360-metre quay with 13 metre depth will be built, allowing for larger ships to berth in Ringaskiddy. The project will also include the construction of a 13.5 hectare terminal and associated buildings, along with two ship to shore gantry cranes and container handling equipment.

The development is the Port of Cork's largest single investment in marine infrastructure and superstructure.
The terminal will accommodate current and future container shipping which can be serviced by modern and efficient cargo handling equipment with innovative terminal operating and vehicle booking systems.
BAM Civil has been awarded the contract for the project.
Funding has been supplied from Allied Irish Banks, the European Investment Bank, the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund and European Union Connecting Europe Facility towards the project.
The Cork Container Terminal is expected to be in operation by 2020.
