HG Construction To Deliver Nine Residential Units In Cork

HG Construction is to begin construction work on nine residential units on a derelict brownfield site at Cúirt na Silíní in Cherryvale, Cork.

The €2.4 million scheme will include a mix of two- and three-bedroom two storey houses.

DJF Engineeering Services and Coughlan DeKeyser Architects brought the project through detailed design to the construction stage.

The Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr Declan Hurley, warmly welcomed the progress: "The signing of this will continue Cork County Council's ambitious construction programme and provide much needed social housing in areas of high demand."



The Chief Executive of Cork County Council, Tim Lucey added: "Local authorities such as Cork County are central to achieving the targets set out in Rebuilding Ireland and are doing our all within our power to ensure that all suitable potential sources of housing supply are activated as quickly as possible."

The scheme is part of Cork County Council's Social Housing Capital Programme which aims to make 517 additional units of social housing available in 2018 and over 3,000 dwellings available by 2021.
