Water Main Replacement Project Commences In Meath

Construction work has commenced to replace a problematic water main in Julianstown, Co Meath.

The water main, located between the Golf Club and the Community Centre in Sandyhall, will be replaced with new modern pipes. The new pipes will ensure a secured water supply is available for local residents.

The project officially began on 22 May and is expected take approximately one month to complete.


It is part of Irish Water's national Leakage Reduction Programme which will invest €500 million over the next four years to reduce the level of leakage across the country.

Commenting on the works Derek Deignan, Regional Lead for the Leakage Reduction Programme, said: "This section of water mains in Sandyhall requires a permanent solution to ensure security of supply for local residents and businesses. Replacing the existing water mains with new modern pipes will provide a long term solution to ensure a safe and secure water supply is delivered to customers."
