New Secondary School To Be Developed In Dublin

A new secondary school is to be developed in the Citywest/Saggart area of Dublin.

The new school is expected to open in 2020.

Fine Gael TD Colm Brophy welcomed the announcement and said it is great news for the community.

He said: "Fine Gael in Government is determined that no child is left behind in economic recovery and we should use our strengthening economy to become a leader in the provision of world-class education and skills.

"The Action Plan for Education 2018, announced by my Fine Gael colleague the Minister for Education, Richard Bruton, sets out our aim to make the Irish Education and Training service the best in Europe by 2026.

"If we are to have the best education and training system in Europe, we must ensure that we adequately prepare for this future need by planning for the necessary modern school facilities now."
