Construction work is to start on a £255,000 carriageway resurfacing project in Ballymartin, Co Down.
The work will take place on the A2 Newcastle Road / Annalong Road at Ballymartin and is expected to start on Monday 12 March.
The scheme will improve and enhance both the structural integrity and surface of the road.
The resurfacing works extend a distance of approximately 1.1 kilometres from the Ballykeel Road junction to 140 metres past Seaview Heights.(Newcastle side)
Road closures will be put in place from 8am to 6pm on Monday 12 March until Friday 16 March and from 8am to 6pm on Tuesday 20 March to Friday 23 March.
Traffic will be diverted via A2 Annalong Road/Glassdrumman Road/Ballagh Road/Kilkeel Road, B180 Bryansford Road/Hilltown Road, B27 Kilkeel Road, B8 Castlewellan Road/Main Street, B25 Rostrevor Road/Kilbroney Road/Mary Street, A2 Shore Road/Killowen Road/Newry Road/Newry Street/Bridge Street/ Newcastle Street/Newcastle Road/ Main Road (and vice versa). Diversionary routes will be signed and local access for residents will be maintained at all times during the works.
Work is expected to be completed by Friday 23 March 2018.
