Customers in the Cashelard area will not get an improved water supply after Irish Water invested €150,000 in the project.
The scheme included the provision of an additional treatment process to the existing plant to improve the quality of the drinking water.

The Cashelard supply is on the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Remedial Action List (RAL) for high levels of THMs and these works were undertaken to reduce the risk posed by THMs for these customers.
Irish Water's Capital Programme Lead, Martin Temple, said: "These important works for the Cashelard Water Treatment Plant have just been completed and consumers in the area are now being supplied with an improved water quality where the risk of THMs has been reduced."
