EPS Limited Completes Work To Improve Two Pump Stations In Carlow

EPS Limited has completed improvement work on two wastewater pump stations in Carlow.

The upgrades of the Quinagh Green and Wexford Road Pumping Stations, costing €380,000, will improve the performance of the two plants and reduce the risk of disruption to residents and businesses in Carlow due to blockages or plant breakdown.

It will also deliver financial savings, with lower maintenance costs associated with the newly refurbished plants.


David Sharry, Capital Programmes Regional Lead with Irish Water, said: "This investment of €380,000 by Irish Water in improving the wastewater treatment network in Carlow brings immediate and long-term benefits in terms of improved performance, efficiency and safety.

"An effective wastewater treatment network is essential in facilitating social and economic development. From 2017 – 2021, the remaining period of the Irish Water Business Plan, the utility is ramping up investment to spend an average of €326m per year on wastewater infrastructure. Investments such as this one and recently completed wastewater treatment plants in Rathvilly and Hacketstown are part of this programme."
